I've been listening to the scanner and noticing alot of retones for the Fire Department and Ambulance. I have noticed that since Saturday there have been three times that Wilton Ambulance has not been able to get out. And before you people say I'm wrong, on Saturday they called a second ambulance to Burns Hill Road, Last night they called a second ambulance to Forest Road, this morning Milford needed mutual aid and Wilton couldn't help.

I find this sickening that the Town budgets almost $400 thousand dollars a year for an ambulance service that doesn't respond. I don't recall this happening when Director Zirpolo was here. The fire department budget is almost $150,000 and we just got them a shiney new fire truck that just sits there. They have a huge fire station to collect fire trucks that don't go anywhere.

WAKE UP PEOPLE ... your life is on the line. Tell your selectman you are outraged.... Something needs to change, and fast, before people DIE!

What is a retone and why isn't the fire department and ambulance getting out? Are they on strike because of what has been happening?

A retone is when they can't get a crew and they have to put out another call for personnel. They don't have people to respond to calls. Gary was covering a lot of ambulance time, because the town manager treated him like crap and he left, we don't have coverage.

Good luck.
